This course will introduce the basic modules of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 while demystifying the concepts of non-destructive image editing, metadata, keywords, image ingestion and the controls of the Library and Develop module. Time permitting; we will also review the Slide Show, Print and Web modules.

Participants will leave with a list of helpful resources and links to further their skill building. Participants should be comfortable with a Mac environment for this fast paced seminar. Images will be provided for you to work with, but you are encouraged to bring your own as well!

Patricia (Patti) Russotti is an artist, educator, curriculum developer, and international presenter. She is currently a New Media Professor in the School of Print Media, and a tenured professor with the College of Imaging Arts & Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology. Patti provides imaging services for corporations, public service organizations and individual artistic commissions. She has done extensive consulting for small and mid-sized in house graphic service departments, ad agencies and photography studios. These endeavors focus on assessing and refining existing workflows, creating new workflows, establishing best practices and providing training programs. Committed to providing Best Practices and Industry Standards training to faculty in colleges and universities she has played a major role in assisting integration within curriculum, as well as offering updates to faculty technology and software skills. As an active digital and photographic imaging artist, she has produced a wide range of work for corporations, public service organizations, individual artistic commissions, funded projects and public exhibitions. Patti also develops and presents technical and creative corporate seminars, workshops, and training programs. Her focus is the application of cutting edge computer, alternative, and historic imaging processes, best practices and workflow. Patti’s career has a breadth and depth of experience and skill in workflow, image making (analog and digital), the creative process, design and education. Her positions previous to, and concurrent with RIT include: the management and operation of a multimedia lab; ownership and operation of an advertising photography studio and an imaging services, consulting group.

As a trainer on Image processes and workflows, Patti has provided digital imaging training since the first version of Adobe Photoshop. She has provided custom training for companies in the US as well as internationally. Clients have included: Kodak, Xerox, Canon, The American University in Bulgaria, The American University of Lithuania , Shanghai University and Moscow University.

Professional credentials include M.S. and Ed.S. Degrees from Indiana University.
