Sculpture: Relief Casting

Relief Casting: This workshop will give participants an
introduction into the casting process. A direct carving approach will
be taken to pre-made molds then aluminum will be melted to 1500 degrees
and poured into the molds. Workshop participants can participate in the
pour and take home the finished aluminum castings. Alternative
materials to apply to the casting process will be discussed.
Cost for materials: $30 (to be paid to instructor/Checks payable to RIT)

Elizabeth Kronfield is an Assistant Professor in the School of
Art. She received her MFA in Sculpture from the University of Georgia
where her began to incorporate cast metal with carved stone components.
She has taught many different casting workshops and her work has been
exhibited throughout the country.
